Let it Rain.
"When it rains, I let it." -- 116 year old man on the secret to his longevity
What does it mean to be content? Truly? Is it defined by the things we own or the trips we take? The practice of pure santosha means we have to stop looking outside of ourselves to be happy and content. Contentment means we enjoy what we have right now instead of always waiting for that next thing. When we have found true contentment, we take ownership and responsibility for our own disturbances. We choose to be calm even when something doesn't go the way we would like. We're grateful for the good and yes, even the annoyances and upsetting parts of life. It's said that contentment is falling in love with your life.
I'm not saying I have this down pat. I'm working on it, too. Practicing as we all are in yoga... Inspired by the 116 year old man quoted above, may we allow the rain to fall without resistance.
